JAEL WAGONER, QUNITY
Ms. Jael Wagoner, Vice President of Community Design at Qunity, brings over two decades of extensive experience spanning diverse land development, landscape architecture, and land planning disciplines. Her career is marked by a dedication to creating purposeful and inspirational places across a broad spectrum of project types, including private, public, healthcare, parks and recreation, k-12 education, higher education, aviation, and energy. Ms. Wagoner's responsibilities encompass business development, comprehensive project management from conceptualization through construction, and the mentorship of her team. Her commitment to public and environmental stewardship underscores her drive to leave a lasting, positive legacy.
As a decorated United States Navy Veteran, she embodies a strong foundation of dedication and service. Jael has been actively involved with the North Carolina chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects since 2019, serving as a NCASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture Committee Member (2020), as the NCASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture Conference Committee Chair since 2021.
Jael is currently serving as the Member at Large - Awards 2023-2025.
SECRETARY
BERT LYNN, CHARLOTTE MECKLENBURG PARKS AND RECREATION
Bert is a licensed landscape architect with 25 years of experience and proud graduate of Clemson University based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the Capital Planning Division Director for Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation. He and his team work to ensure the recreation facility needs of Mecklenburg County residents are met. Bert’s team is responsible for the planning, land acquisition, community engagement, design, and construction of park and recreation facilities. Capital Planning serves as the primary coordination entity of the Department, developing and maintaining partnerships in the pursuit of fulfilling short- and long-term planning goals. Prior to joining Park and Recreation, Bert worked for a private landscape architecture firm, then served as a Project Manager with Mecklenburg County Asset and Facility Management where he managed a number of park, greenway, nature preserve, and special recreation facility projects. He served on the Carolinas Region Board for Out Teach, a national non-profit whose goal is to unlock student performance with experiential learning outdoors. Bert believes that every resident of Mecklenburg County deserves high quality, accessible public open space and works daily toward that vision.

BRIAN VAUGHN, SURFACE 678
Brian is a landscape designer and emerging professional with Surface 678 in Durham. Prior to landscape architecture, he began his career in smart home technology, designing and implementing solutions for complex building systems with a software startup based in Philadelphia. After attending Design With Nature Now, a conference celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Ian McHarg’s seminal work—he decided to pursue landscape architecture.
Brian earned his Master of Landscape Architecture Degree at NC State, where he was the College of Design’s first participant in the Kenan Institute Climate Leaders program. The through-line of his student work is best summarized by the title of his thesis: “Break Expand Comply: An Attitude To Rules and Regulatory Regimes Is A Landscape Architecture Imperative”.
At Surface 678, Brian has enjoyed contributing to a talented team of designers working on projects across the Southeast. He continues his journey to becoming licensed.
Brian seeks to be a community builder of design professionals in North Carolina—we are a stronger profession when we help others recognize our unique approach and contributions to the built environment.
In his free time, Brian and his wife Allison enjoy walks with their Basset Hound, Dolly, and exploring places new to them.

TROY OLSON, CLH Design
Troy is a Senior Landscape Architect at CLH Design, bringing 18 years of experience specializing in publicly funded projects, particularly in K-12 education environments. Troy studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Massachusetts, where he developed a strong foundation in design and sustainability. Over the course of his career, he has worked in New York City, Washington DC, Virginia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts, gaining valuable experience in all sectors of the profession. His work combines innovative design solutions with a deep understanding of the unique needs of educational institutions, ensuring each project fosters both environmental responsibility and community engagement. Troy advocates for Landscape Architects to cultivate a strong and influential voice to ensure the continuous growth and recognition of Landscape Architecture as a vital and evolving profession.

JEREMY ARNETT, BOLTON & MENK
Jeremy is a Landscape Architect Project Manager at Bolton & Menk in the Raleigh office. A committed idealist with a practical approach, Jeremy strives to deliver thoughtful, high-quality design solutions that benefit both clients and communities. He has managed a diverse range of projects, from parks and recreation spaces to multifamily developments and municipal work. However, his true passion lies with plants and finding innovative ways to bring people and nature together to create positive impacts on everyday lives. His approach is rooted in continuous learning, attentive listening, and hands-on leadership, ensuring each project aligns with client goals while respecting and enhancing ecological systems.
Jeremy holds a bachelor's degree in Horticulture from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia. He is licensed to practice in North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, and Maryland. While a member of ASLA for over a decade, Jeremy is ready to share his skillset and experience with the broader community.

MEGAN FOY, EQUINOX
Megan is a skilled landscape architect at Equinox, specializing in integrating natural and cultural assets into planning and design projects. With her LEED AP credentials, she excels in sustainable design applications, enhancing the quality of her work. Megan's technical expertise enables her to create high-quality designs for local communities, focusing on large-scale planning projects while collaborating with steering committees and stakeholders to achieve established goals. Known for her attentive listening, she works closely with clients for successful outcomes. Her diverse project portfolio includes site design, parks and greenways, ecological restoration, stormwater design, and low-impact development. Recently, she served as the project manager for the Pisgah View State Park master plan, the first North Carolina State Park in Buncombe County, where she balanced community engagement with outdoor recreation planning and future landscape resilience strategies. Megan has managed multiple master plans and public open spaces, adeptly integrating human use and recreation with natural resource management. Her work emphasizes landscape resilience, community, sustainability, and education, reflecting her commitment to thoughtful and impactful design in the landscapes she shapes.

BRITTIAN ALLISON, RATION DESIGN
A unique blend of architect and urban designer, Brittain's experience and insight have shaped numerous projects, blending the built and natural environments. His understanding of architecture allows him to interpret and discover relationships between buildings and the public realm; creating one-of-a-kind places. He has contributed to the design of numerous municipal and privately funded projects including master plans and site plans for complex, mixed-use developments, multi-family communities, and offices.
As a burgeoning new member of NCASLA I am honored to be considered for the Triangle Section Chair position. I am eager to meet with and connect with Landscape Architects across the state and to grow both personally and professionally with ASLA.
